Baby Fassnacht's First Pictures

We had our first ultrasound yesterday. I had no idea how much fun it would be. The baby was hiding in a corner under my left ribcage and the ultrasound technician thought it was pretty funny. Luckily because of that she had trouble getting some of the pictures she needed so she decided to turn the screen around and let us see all kinds of things in hopes that the baby would end up relocating eventually. 

First off, she showed us the proof of the baby’s gender. The picture we have shows us we can be 100% certain....it’s a boy! It looks like he’s sitting on the camera. It’s a great shot. He then proceeded to not only wave at us but to play peek-a-boo a little bit. He eventually rotated so she could get the shot she needed of his heart. It was amazing to watch his little heart beat. We ended up being there for about an hour so Eric got to see all kinds of things while I laid there and tried not to wet my pants.

He’s measuring a little ahead of schedule which means the due date might be more like October 6th than October 15th. He’s already 1.2 lbs! He also happens to be really cute.

Eric is pretty darn excited to be having a son (as am I). We’re already thinking of all the sports outfits we need to get....Newcastle, Cyclones, Browns.  He’ll be born right in the middle of football and soccer season so he’ll be a fan before you know it. 

Now that we know we’re having a boy we need to get cracking on all the preparations. We’ve already found a theme we like for the room. We found some really cute Dr. Seuss sheets that will be nice and colorful.

You're looking at the bottom of his butt to the top right with his two legs coming out to the left, you can see his umbilical cord and....gender definer in the middle.

Eric believes the baby looks just like him. I sure hope so. He's on his side, so his forehead is all the way to the left.
